Journal entries

Journal entry 1 

We had just been told what our project is. We must make the Periodic table more interesting to learn. We have not been placed into any groups. So far in this lesson, we have just been dicussing about contracts and the project, I don’t really look forward to this project.

Journal entry 2

During this lesson, I have been placed into groups, my group members are: Scott and Sarthaak. We have begun research, but it’s going really slowly. We spent like half the lesson just signing contracts and other things. I think it was a big waste of time. My group have been discussing about how we should present it, the ideas of making a poster and a website have been scrapped because it’s not very intersiting and it’s too difficult.

Journal entry 3

During this lesson, we still have accomplished that much either. We handed in our contracts, but the teacher made us re-do it again because it wasn’t good enough. That’s about half the lesson wasted. We have just begun research, and it is going incredibly slowly. So far, I don’t really like the group and I hate my role, being a secretary. I had to upload many contracts and sheets, even though the teacher told us to split the work out.

We are quite behind, last Friday’s lesson was cancelled because oftyhe swimming carnival. Because of that, we have to catch up on a lot of work. We are still reasearching, but its still going quite slow. I uploaded more work onto the internet. We havn’t had many group meetings, so I plan just to do them myself. We need more time to do thisd project because we have has many distruptions and he didn’t start the project on the first day, this only gives us 3 weeks.

In this lesson, we have just been researching. My group have decided to make a boardgame. We are quite lost and have no idea for our boardgame.

Today, we have just been continuing on our research. We have made a rough design for the boardgame and he asked for help from the teacher.

Today, we have been researching, I was allocated to buy the cardboard and the contact for the board. I hate my group. I feel that no one, including me are doing much work

As a group, I think we’re not functioning very well. The project is due next week, but we still need more time

1) Would you make any changes/improvements to your project?

If we had more time, I would of made a better boardgame designs, did a much better job contacting the cardboard and made more questions for the game.

2) Favourite project – why?

I liked the group’s idea of making a quiz like type of project. I think it was a unique idea, even I wouldn’t have thought of it. I think it was couragous of doing that idea, I think that project would achieve good marks

3) How can you improve on your presentation skills in the next project?

I would make a presenation on the computer, and use it to aide my presentation, plus it makes it look like that I have put in extra credit for my project. I would definitely need to improve my speaking skills and I would try to answers the question correctly.

4) Who in your opinion had good presentation skills?

I think the group who did the quiz game had good presentation skills, not only they presented their project well, but also interacted with the audience.
